1. Drink water when you get up

https://easypracticaltips.com/wondering-when-should-you-drink-water-heres-all-you-need-to-know/Imagine starting your car at subzero temperatures and starting it without waiting for the engine to warm up. That is a disaster waiting to happen. The same goes for the human body. Without water to wake up and turn on your body in the morning, you may be running empty, especially if you skip breakfast.

A glass of cold water right after getting up tells your body it’s time to get going. Like a stream that flows smoothly and that pushes along debris and rocks, your circulatory system needs fluid to get rid of the unyielding free radicals and the residue left after burning off those calories that are used during the metabolism at night.

2. Drink water before a meal

Drinking water before eating helps you feel fuller; That means you will be less likely to feel hungry.

When you are hydrated, the stomach is also prepared for food; the water awakens the taste buds and moisturizes the inner linings of the stomach so that acidic foods are not uncomfortable for it. Drinking a glass of water moistens the mouth and eliminates the leftover flavors of previous meals, drinks, caffeine or nicotine, in anticipation of the next meal or snack.

3. Drink water when you are hungry

If you are hungry between meals, gulp down a tall glass of fresh water to see if you are dehydrated. Sometimes people think they are hungry when in reality they are just thirsty.

Drinking water before or with a snack will help you feel fuller fast and help control your calorie intake.

https://easypracticaltips.com/wondering-when-should-you-drink-water-heres-all-you-need-to-know/Depending on the ambient temperature, humidity and fluid levels in your body, you may need one or more glasses of water to protect against dehydration during and after your workouts.

Hydration is essential to protect against heat stroke in hot climates and freezing in cold temperatures since the circulation of your body plays a protective role at both extremes of temperature and needs water to function properly.

5. Drink water after a workout

After vigorous exercise, you may need to drink plenty of water to replace the fluids lost through perspiration and urination. Among other factors, the amount you will need will depend on your weight, health and whether you exercised in hot or humid conditions, especially for long periods.

Make sure you do not drink too much water too quickly or it could cause stomach cramps.

6. Drink water if you are exposed to germs

If you are near sick people in the hospital or at work and school, drink a little more water than usual to help eliminate the germs and viruses your body may have picked up.

7. Drink more water when you are sick

The advice your mother gave you still apply: when you’re sick, you need to drink plenty of fluids, including water, to recuperate.

Drinking eight glasses of water a day (8 ounces per glass) is still a good goal for most people, but other liquids such as tea, juice, and soup also count for your total consumption.

8. Drink water when you are tired

If you feel drowsy and an urgent need for a nap but you can not take one, take a glass or two of water.

Do you know that fatigue might be one of the first signs of dehydration? Because of its ability to move quickly through the body, water can reach your brain and gives you, for example, a little boost before an important meeting or when you are on the deadline, even if you were not as sleepy as you would like.

Wondering How to Purify Water?

https://easypracticaltips.com/wondering-when-should-you-drink-water-heres-all-you-need-to-know/

Contamination of water happens in the following two ways.

  • The first time is when you leave the container of water in an open state at room temperature for an extended period of time. This provides a place for bacteria, algae and mosquitoes to breed.
  • The second way of contamination is when the container in which the water is stored begins to leach the chemicals.

Drinking contaminated water can easily transmit bad elements into the system, causing diseases such as cholera and typhoid fever. The risk is high during the monsoon season when water becomes contaminated due to water accumulation, open sewage, and other unhealthy conditions.

Therefore, it is very important to drink clean water to enjoy the health benefits of drinking water.

The following are some steps to purify your drinking water before consumption:

  • If the water is contaminated, filter the water through paper towels, coffee filter paper or several layers of cloth to remove sediment. Forcing water through the muslin fabric does not make it safe to drink, since bacteria and other toxic substances may still be present in it. To make the water safe to drink, boil the water for 15 minutes after filtering it through the cloth.
  • You can also chemically purify the water by adding potassium permanganate, liquid bleach or iodine tincture. Do not use the bleach you use to clean your house, as they are poisonous. Please ensure that you purchase the chemicals from a reputed pharmacy and you treat water under proper professional supervision
    • Use only three drops of iodine or liquid bleach per liter.
    • Mix the water well by shaking or stirring the water in the container.
    • Let the water stand as it is for 30 minutes to an hour.
    • Water purification tablets can also help you purify water.
    • The tablets have a shelf life of two years and lose their effectiveness if they get wet.
  • Purify enough water to last 48 hours, since letting it stand for longer periods can contaminate them again.

The consumption of bottled water produces unwanted waste of used plastic bottles. They are discharged into the environment, which allows chemicals such as phthalates to seep into the groundwater and finally into our bodies. This can cause diseases such as cancer and intestinal problems. Do not allow your plastic bottles to sit in the sun, as this could increase the chances of chemical leaching. Use stainless steel bottles for travel purposes.

Uses of Water:

• Water is available in many forms, including bottled water, flavored water, tonic water, vitamin water, and tap water.

• Water plays a very important role in the preparation of food.

• Water serves an important role as a medium for cooking food, such as in the process of steaming and boiling.

• It also acts as a carrier of flavors in sherbet, fruit syrup, juices, tea, and coffee.

• When taken slowly, hot water will revive people as effectively as tea or coffee. The merit of the soup is that it contains about 95% hot water, while the solids are largely in solution.

Some Words Of Caution:

Drinking too much water can lead to a rare condition called hyponatremia. Athletes, the elderly and patients with heart disease and cirrhosis are at risk.

Coffee, cola, alcohol, and tea should not be considered as substitutes for water. In addition, coffee is diuretic, so its excess can worsen the water balance in the body.

Conclusion

You need to drink enough water, but you must make sure to drink water at the right time. It will help you stay hydrated and also allow your body to function without problems. While each person’s schedule may vary depending on the circumstances, it is advisable to ensure that your body receives a regular supply of water before you begin to dehydrate. However, be sure to drink clean, safe water to avoid waterborne diseases. There are a number of brands that offer high-quality water purifiers that effectively remove contaminants and dissolved impurities from the water. However, be sure to perform a water quality test before making the final decision.

Your article is a wealth on information about how to drink water and I am 100% behind it with every point you are addressing.

First, I love my water and since I was a kid I always used to drink lots of water.

In later years friends and family have made fun of me because of my habit of drinking lots of water as they like to say.

Due to their constant pressure I used to think it as a bad practice and slowly and consciously changed my habit and reduced my water consumption. As a result, last few years I was experiencing the issues like headaches and constipation.

I was surprised that you mentioned both of the symptoms and now I understand the reasons for them.

I have a question, what is your opinion as how much a person should drink water in a period of 24 hours?

I have read about the amounts varying from 1 litre to even 4 litre per day.

    Thank you for your response.

    • GeeEss

Generally it is recommended that women consume at least 91 ounces (2.5 litres) of water in a period of 24 hours men around 125 ounces (3.5 litres) per day. However, it is the total water consumption including water from foods and beverages.

      Hope this answers your question.
